I cut out the ridiculous cost of albums: I do not do albums, nough' said. reality check: That elaborate album will, most likely, sit on a shelf never to be looked at again. trust me- You CAN, however, build your OWN album within the online viewing gallery and order it through me.... I just dont have any desire whatsoever to build one for you.
I don't do overpriced prints: I offer you the option to purchase prints at a very resonable price. I deliver the same "super high quality prints" as my competitors, but for a lot less $. I get all of my printing done through a local commercial printing company. They give me a pretty great discount, & I'm more than happy to pass that blessing along to you. Pretty rad, huh? $5O minimum order
All portrait sessions: 2-3 hours for the shoot, all final images on CD/DVD. These "final images" (touched up, artistic rendetions, b&w, etc) are burned onto a CD, yours to keep forever & ever.
I love taking pictures [no surprise there].
I am a "lifestyle photographer". Basically, that means that I mix photojournalism, candid portraits, and creative photography approaches to capture the most beautiful and hidden moments. The silent vulnerability & raw emotion is what I aim to capture in each photo I take.
Lifestyle photography is a documentary approach- rather than the uber 'plastic man' poses that traditional photographers defult to. I have strong convictions on any "jumping bridal parties" or any type of "horizontal holding" of a bride by the groomsmen... ick and double ick is what I have to say to that. There will be no jumping. I can assure you of that.
I will do a few "posed" pictures in portraits, weddings, and all of the services that I offer, but even at that- My desire is to capture photos that are as eclectic and organic as possble.
My name is actually Megan, not Ruby. It's a bit of story why I named my business "Ruby Lee"... But even without the boring 'story'...."Megan Krape photography" sounds pretty lame...
I've been doing photography professionally for almost 5 years now. My decision to take on photography as a full time career was actually quite simple: It's my greatest passion in life.
I'm commited to creating an emotional connection with each subject that I shoot- no matter if it's a chair or a bride. I believe that exploiting true emotion (& I mean that in the best possible sense) is the literal purpose behind photography- It makes the photo subjective, rather than projective.... In my humble opinion, the traditional '"say cheese" approach is a boring tradition that falsly represents the intent & true emotion felt at the time the photo was taken. My desire is to engage viewers- not force them to agree with another illusion of the photographers sense of reality.
